The nail smiths once shaped the Ennstal village of Losenstein. From the center of the village, the trail leads into the romantic Stiedelsbach. Past the Brandstätter Hammer, which houses the nail smith museum with the world's largest collection of hand-forged nails, the trail continues to the hidden lake of the Kesselfall.
Directions:
The trail leads from the center of the village to the B115, over the bridge and then down to the Enns at the parking. Under the bridge of the B115 it goes into the romantic Stiedelsbach, past the Brandstätter Hammer, which houses the nail forging museum with the world's largest collection of hand-forged nails. The Nagelschmiedweg ends at the hidden lake of the Kesselfall.
For the way back we recommend the side road in the direction of the castle ruins of Losenstein with a detour up there.
Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - railway station Losenstein: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 3 hours from Vienna.
