Altpernstein Castle Tavern

The Altpernstein Castle is a medieval castle in Micheldorf (District of Kirchdorf). Hikers and excursion guests can enjoy the view over the Kremstal from the observation terrace and in the castle tavern.

Other attractions upon request: castle tours, archery course, and via ferrata.

Via the A9 - exit no. 16 "Inzersdorf-Kirchdorf" - B 138 to Micheldorf, then leave the main road - drive up via "Burgstraße" to the castle.

ATTENTION: many navigation devices erroneously locate the address of Altpernstein Castle (Altpernstein 1) as "Altpernstein 3".
For access to "Altpernstein 1" (correct address) you have to turn off in Micheldorf! However, many sat navs mistakenly direct you away from the main road to "Altpernstein 3" in Kirchdorf. Unfortunately, there is no road between "Altpernstein 3" and "Altpernstein 1" that can be used by cars, so be sure to leave the main road in MICHELDORF and drive up to the castle via the BURGSTRASSE in Micheldorf.
