From the Enns uphill to the Gschoad, there are interesting things to discover and beatiful views to enjoy.
For sure-footed summit strikers a detour to the Steinernen Jäger and the Schieferstein is an option.
Trail number: Nailsmithing Path, E73, E72b, 467, E72
Directions:
From the parking the trail leads down to the Enns, under the bridge into the Stiedelsbach and along the Nailsmithing Path up the Stiedelsbach. Shortly before the Bauernhof Peilstein, the trail joins a forest and meadow path and continues to Gschoad.
The way back leads via the 467, E72.
The variant E72 and b leads past the Bauernhof Miesriegel.
Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - railway station Losenstein: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 3 hours from Vienna.
Equipment:
No gastronomy along the way, so bring drinks and a snack if needed.

The Nailsmithing Path and Brandstätter Hammer takes you on a journey into the past whisking you off into the nailsmithing world of bygone days, passing historic places on the way.

From Vienna: A1 motorway exit Haag > B42 > B122 > B115 into the Enns Valley
From Passau: A8 Passau > Wels > A1 motorway exit Enns-Steyr > B115 into the Enns Valley
From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn > motorway exit Klaus > Grünburg > into the Ennstal valley

The Ennstalbahn runs between Linz and Weißenbach-St. Gallen. Details at www.ooevv.at
Stations and railway stations are located in Ternberg, Trattenbach, Losenstein, Reichraming, Großraming, Gaflenz, Weyer, Küpfern, Kastenreith, Kleinreifling and Weißenbach-St. Gallen.
