The circular hike leads past old castles and ruins along the wildly romantic Grabenweg to Atlpernstein Castle with a magnificent view over the Upper Kremstal.
The route continues to the Eustachius Cross, to the Marienkapelle chapel, along the Prälatenweg to the Josefswarte and along the Musikersteig trail back to the starting point.

Those who love the romance of old castles and ruins will enjoy this hike.
The hiking trail leads past the Alpenbad to the wildly romantic Grabenweg, at the beginning of which is the "Zu Steinern" farm. Follow the K91 markings through the ditch up to Altpernstein Castle and enjoy the magnificent view over the Upper Kremstal from the castle terrace.
Above the castle, a path that is only somewhat steep at the beginning leads to the Eustachius Cross and the forest road takes you to the Marienkapelle chapel and a unique panoramic view of the Sengsen Mountains.
Via the "Prälatenweg" (prelates' path) you reach the Josefswarte, an optimal resting place.The narrow "Musikersteig" leads you back to the village with its cosy refreshment stops.
Tip:
Climate-friendly to the National Park Region - railway station Micheldorf in Oberösterreich: By train you can reach the starting point for this hike in about 1 hour from Linz and in about 2.5 hours from Vienna.

From Vienna/Salzburg: A1 towards Linz > A9 Pyhrnautobahn - exit Inzersdorf.
From Linz: A9 Pyhrn motorway - exit Inzersdorf
From Graz: A9 Pyhrnautobahn > exit Klaus > federal road B 138
Public Transit
Arrival with the Pyhrnbahn, there are stops in Schlierbach, Kirchdorf/Krems and Micheldorf.
