At the train station, the Almkogel hiking trail no. 492 leads past the Kronstein farm, along a forest path to a saddle, across a high moor to the Brennhöhe and steeply uphill to the Rotstein. For the way back, take the Lumplgraben back to the starting point.
Trail number: E43
Directions:
This hiking trail starts at the train station and leads along the Almkogel hiking trail no. 492 past the Kronstein farm, along a forest path to a saddle. Over a high moor it continues to the Brennhöhe. There you have the option of shortening this hike in the direction of the (former) "Pension Stangl", or to conquer the summit of the "Rotstein".
After 100 m, after a gate, the path goes steeply uphill to the right. A wonderful view of Großraming and the Hintergebirge rewards this ascent. On the front side of the Rotstein we hike down to Pension Stangl and back to the railway station.
